We’re several games into the regular season, and times are exciting in the NBA. Sure, it’s early in the year and a lot can change, but there are a few trends that seem to have sparked the interest of many fans, wondering how things will play out through the course of the season.

Most notable is the fact that some teams have been playing well above expectations, while others have definitely fallen short. It’s time to take a look at some of these scenarios.

If you’ve been keeping up with the league, you’ve probably noticed that the Suns are tearing it up on the courts. Few people remember that this team was considered a championship contender even just two seasons ago, yet they missed the playoffs last year.

Despite the loss of Shaq in the off season, Phoenix is playing some great basketball. It makes you wonder if the team might be better off without him.

How about the Thunder down in Oklahoma City? Everyone knows that one day this team may eventually break out. After all, Kevin Durant is one of the best young talents in the league and he as a nice supporting cast.

What people didn’t expect was for the team to start winning games this season. Having won their first two games, the Thunder surprised many fans with wins over the Kings and Pistons.

This team won its first two games of the season and forced the Lakers to an overtime period.

Lastly, we should look at the weak start in Cleveland. I can’t even remember how many games it took last season before the Cavs lost twice, but it happened in just two games in 09-10.

The team lost its first two games. Sure, many could say that the loss to the Celtics could happen on any given night. How about the loss to the Raptors though? This took many by surprise, as this was a game the team never would have lost last season. With each and every game mattering as far as home court advantage goes, Cleveland needs to fix itself in a hurry.
