The night has come and gone and even though you have tried, the tossing and turning would not stop. A good night’s sleep was all you wanted but this proved to be futile. Engaging in deep breathing exercises is also helpful. Gaining control of your breathing will contribute greatly to reducing anxiety. This is because deep breathing will slow your respiration and your heart rate. This, in turn, will have a calming effect. That will eventually help restore your normal sleeping patterns.

As any mental health professional can attest to, anxiety on its own is a very serious problem but when it’s accompanied by sleeplessness, the seriousness can escalate dramatically.
