What Does The Future Hold For Space Research And Exploration?
Most of us are totally fascinated by space. It is something that we cannot possibly fathom for the most part and there is an unlimited amount of information about space in its entirety that a single person could never realistically compute. We will know most of the basics about what is out there and how we came to be. The Big Bang is something that everyone has heard about and we will know the planets of our own solar system and the name of our own galaxy. If we are particularly interested we might know a little bit more, but for most people, this is where the extent of our knowledge will end. In order to extend our knowledge space research is constantly being done in order to answer many different questions about our own existence and that or possible alien life beyond our borders.
It all started decades ago when the American’s and the Russian’s began to compete with each other in the Space Race. Both countries were eager to out a man on the moon and into space first of all. Russia won the first battle, playing Gagarin into space with the first manned space flight, but the US took the reigns and got Armstrong onto the moon before their bitter rivals.
Well, not a great deal to be honest. Whilst technological advances on earth are rocketing forward at quite a pace, space advances have seen little tangible progress over the decades. We are constantly in a state of gathering information about what lies beyond us but this really is the extent of what we are able to achieve right now.
We have managed to get a craft onto the surface of Mars, but an actually visit to the planet is what we are all waiting for. The Ares program is currently being created by NASA in order to allow us to extend our reach into space but this is still going to have its serious limitations.
Yet whether we get a man to Mars or not, people are still fascinated by the thoughts of visiting other planets. Yet how realistic is this? we all watch films where we are able to travel at light speeds but is this really realistic? well, the truth is that the idea of light speed is very much a science fiction creation and the idea to travelling at the speed of light goes against the laws of gravity and physics.
As a result it may well be that we are rather restricted in our space travel exploits to areas in and around our own planet, at least for the time being. It really is impossible to tell what technological advances are going to arise in the future and perhaps some form of quicker space travel is possible.
And even if light speeds were able to be done, then this is not enough to get us to the vast majority of the universe. Given that most planets and constellations are many many light years away we would still find ourselves in the same pickle as before.
So the key is to focus on what Mars can offer and what secrets about our own creation may be unlocked. Only after this can we look any further.
People have been dreaming about the stars and engaging in space research for centuries now, along with animal research for learning more about the biology of creatures on this planet.
